However, as if I needed yet another reason to go back to Italy, I made a little discovery while looking through photos of my recent trip. This picture, which I didn't even know was being taken, shows my hair in its completely natural state. Earlier that day, I had stepped out of the shower (after using only conditioner) and did absolutely nothing to my hair.
Look at those curls! Look how naturally my hair takes to Italy! (Yes, I realize the top is messed up a bit - I think I had just brushed it back with my hand, but let's ignore that part...)
It's as if it's saying, "Stay here, and I'll look like this for you every day!"

You have gorgeous curls!!! Tomorrow it will be 1 month since my last shampoo... my husband said to me this morning; "you never wear your hair straight anymore" with a pouty look... but I am becoming more and more comfortable in my natural hair and I don't WANT to straighten it now!
Humidity and salty air is the best for curly hair. I can't wait to see what my hair will be like in Italy next year!
Thank you! I'm very pleased with the results, even though it looked much better in Italy than it does here. Our air is very dry here in Reno.
Doesn't it make you feel "free" to let your hair do what it wants to do?
Your hair will look great in Italy! It's too bad we won't be there at the same time with our beautiful hair!
Your hair looks great!! I love the no-poo thing and I love having wavy hair again.
Annika is saving the world, one curl at a time.
Thanks Tina! Umm...I was reading your blog last night, and I was going to post a comment, and I forgot! I'll go visit now...
Such pretty curls! I remember my hair liking Italy quite a bit when I was here the first time too--that was because I forgot to pack a hairdryer and let it free. I still usually blow dry straighter throughout the winter, but in the summer, there's no use even trying.
Thanks Sognatrice! Granted, it takes quite a bit of effort to get my curls to look like that here at home, but in Italy, it's as if it's meant to be.
Here is a good bit of info from a radio broadcast about curly hair. The owners of Mixed Chicks curly hair products do it.
